BBH Launches Thematic Research Product

Brown Brothers Harriman has launched a thematic strategy product suite, led by Sam Burns, a senior marketing strategist at the firm.

The BBH Thematic Strategy is a research product available to BBH clients offering a framework for top-down allocation decisions. The research incorporates various quantitative models and indicators, in the same style as the firm’s other equity research products.

“ guidance on allocation between equities and bonds, small-company and large-company stocks, and which investment themes or styles are likely to enhance portfolio performance under current market and economic conditions,” Burns told Family Wealth Report.

The product is delivered to clients in the form of monthly research reports and interim updates, and although focused on the US financial markets is available to clients globally.

It is intended to provide clients with a broad view of the market to aid asset allocation in an environment where macro themes are crucial to investors' decisions, Burns explained.

“While thematic investing has been around for some time, we think more clients are focusing on the idea that investment themes and styles will move in and out of favor based on the macro environment, a key topic which this product hopes to address,” he told FWR.
